I.P.M. Pest Control

Integrated Pest Control Management (IPM) is a systematic approach that considers all reasonable methods to avoid pest problems. It combines the control or suppression procedures that best suit the particular situation. IPM Balance is the use of cultural, mechanical, biological and chemical procedures to manage pests so that we may:

  • Reduce pest damage
  • Prevent disease that are carried or caused by pests
  • Minimize the adverse effects of management efforts on human health, property and the environment

In order to be successful, an IPM program needs a monitoring system to provide the updates and information for a practical working base. An initial inspection and follow-up monitoring need to be done before management decisions are made.

Site Inspection:

  • Signs of pests and pest damage
  • Presence of pests, basic life needs: food, water, harborage and breeding sites
  • Routes of pest access to those life needs

Monitoring for Pests:

  • Locate areas of pest activity
  • Identify pest species
  • Estimate pest population size
  • Identify causative conditions such as modes of entry and human behavior
